The Nutshack (or It's the Nutshack) is a song that plays out in the intro for the show with the same name. It was written by NUMP produced by Steven King, meanwhile the backing track being done by show composer "Sean Burnes". The lyric "I got grapes, whatchu watchin son-sa." and rhythm is a reference to one of NUMP's previous songs. It showcases the city that Phil and Jack reside in a mix of both Flash and After Effects visual, along with recaps of previous episodes of said show.
Reception
The Nutshack's theme is known for it's borderline unintelligible lyrics by the singer. To this day, there is no official transcript of the song to set in stone the clarity that has confused the people who listen to the song. Although, most have done testing with isolation tools to get better understanding of said lyrics.
It is known as a forced meme on sites like YouTube, Know Your Meme and 4chan. As of 2018, any Nutshack theme edits that are uploaded are either instantly taken down by ABS-CBN or is taken down in minutes. The true origin of the theme being a meme is currently unknown as most people point out to RebelTaxi, SiivaGunner or someone who made a one hour version of the said song. Siiva's usage of the song seems originated in a Siiva rip relating to the Grand Theft Auto series which uses the same style/feel as the show. It became a recurring when it appeared on Siiva's stream in mid 2016, It was also seen a component on the 2nd ARG during the High-Quality Reboot that lead to the Nutshack episode "TTBoy and Kid UTUT" which has been down since early 2016.[1]
The Nutshack theme's meme status managed to catch attention of both NUMP, Jesse Hernandez and Ramon Lopez. NUMP around 2016 seemed to follow-bait the people who asked for stems or the full 2 minute theme as he didn't have it. Jesse Hernandez first took notice on Twitter and Facebook, then posting the full 2 min theme on Youtube. The Nutshack sparked off a huge interest for memes like "Steamed Hams", "We are Number One" and many "Insert Media but Insert Effect" fads.
